Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does this come with a battery and charger?

Yes, this model includes 1 battery.

  • How heavy is the 40V TURBINE Leaf Blower?

The great news is that it’s not heavy! The TURBINE Leaf Blower only weighs 6.3lbs. Our ergonomic design ensures even this small amount of weight is optimally distributed to make clean up comfortable and enjoyable while keeping the controls easily accessible.

  • I have seen the TURBINE Leaf Blower as electric or battery operated. Which one is correct?

Worx has an entire family of TURBINE products, some of which are battery operated and some of which are electric. The WG580 is a battery-powered model, and uses a 40V Worx battery.

  • How long can you use the TURBINE Leaf Blower on each 40 Volt Max Lithium battery charge?

Runtime will vary from job to job, and sometimes between users, depending on how each person works. To maximize the run time you get out of the battery, use the appropriate speed for the job at hand. Lower speeds are ideal for cleaning off hard surfaces, like driveways, sidewalks, patios, or garages. Faster speeds, ideal for cleaning the leaves out of your grass, use more power to give you the blowing force you need to get the job done. Since most clean up jobs will involve switching between lower and faster speeds, actual runtime results will vary. The 40V Worx battery included with your Turbine Leaf Blower will take you twice as far as our 20V (1.5Ah). That’s enough working time per charge to keep the greenery on the average 1/2 acre lawn looking sharp.

  • Is the battery going to be powerful enough?

Worx lithium batteries are surprisingly powerful for their compact size. Our 40V Max lithium batteries have double the power of our 20V (1.5Ah) batteries. If we trust our 20V batteries to power our professional cordless drills through concrete and large timbers, you can believe the 40V battery included with the blower will easily give your bushes, shrubs and other greenery the professionally manicured look you want.

  • Is the battery larger than previous models?

The Worx 40V 20” Cordless blower features a slightly larger battery than previous models. The 40 Volt Max Lithium Battery included with the Worx 20” Cordless blower has double the run time of the 20V (1.5Ah) Worx battery and can hold twice the amount of energy as previous models.

  • How long does it take to charge the 40 Volt Max battery?

It takes approximately 8 hours to fully charge the battery.

  • Are lithium batteries interchangeable with the Ni-Cad?

Our lithium tools and Ni-Cd tools are separate platforms and are not interchangeable. Lithium batteries offer our customers maintenance-free technology without the hassle of managing the memory effect inherent in Ni-Cad batteries.

  • Are the 40 Volt Max Lithium batteries interchangeable with the either the 20 Volt or 32 Volt Max Lithium Batteries?

While Powershare allows you to share batteries between tools within the same voltage family, batteries should only be used with tools of a corresponding voltage. Use your 40V Max Lithium battery with any 40V Worx tool, but save your 20V batteries for your 20V tools and your 32V battery for your 32V tools.

  • What is the horsepower rating of the WORX TURBINE Leaf Blower? How powerful is it?

Horsepower rating is more accurately used to describe gas-powered tools. The Worx WG580 TURBINE Leaf Blower is powered by a 40V battery which is twice as powerful as our previous 20V batteries. You can depend on the power they provide. With a max airflow of 340cfm, you can be sure the TURBINE has the power to get the job done, whether the job is cleaning up flower beds, sweeping out the garage or drying off your car after washing it.

  • Is this also a vacuum like some of the other electric blowers Worx offers?

The WG580 does not include a vacuum feature. For a complete 3-in-1 electric leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher, check out the Worx TriVac or TURBINE Fusion.

  • Is the TURBINE Leaf Blower variable speed? How do I change the speed?

Yes, the WG580 TURBINE Leaf Blower does have a variable speed control. The control is in the perfect position for one-handed operation. To change the speed of the blower, use the orange dial at the front of the handle to go from low to GO!

  • Does it come pre-assembled?

Each TURBINE leaf blower comes with some minor assembly required, but it will take less than 3 minutes and will not require tools.

  • Once I put the TURBINE together, can I disassemble it?

Yes, you can disassemble the TURBINE after you’ve put it together. Press the convenient clip on the left side of the TURBINE nozzle to release the nozzle. Hold this down and pull the nozzle straight away from the motor. Separating the motor and nozzle makes the tool more compact for transport or easy storage in tight spaces.

If you need to further disassemble the nozzle, find the small, rectangular shape with rounded corners near the seam of the two nozzle pieces. Press down hard on this space while pushing the seam against a hard surface. It is difficult to separate, but can be done if necessary.

  • I misplaced my manual. Is there anywhere I can get more information?

You can download the manual here. Our friendly customer service team will be glad to answer any questions you may have at 1-866-354-9679 (WORX).

  • Are there any precautions I should follow when using the blower with damp leaves? Will I get shocked?

The Worx TURBINE Electric Leaf Blower is double-insulated to prevent shock, but we recommend that our customers follow standard safety precautions while using our tools, including wearing safety eyewear, gloves, appropriate shoes and clothing, and keeping hair tied back.

ATTENTION: The back of the motor housing is the air intake for the Worx TURBINE Leaf Blower. Keep all loose clothing, hair and debris away from this area to avoid accident, injury or damage to the tool. Hold the blower at your side and keep the back of the motor housing clear at all times. Refer to the owner's manual for more information.

  • I didn’t receive a wall mount with this tool, but I thought it was supposed to have one. How can I get it?

It’s not missing, just improved. In addition to our passion for innovation, Worx uses customer feedback to continually improve our tools, and some of the feedback we received was not everyone had the space to mount a separate wall bracket to hang their tools, or that it wasn’t compatible with their current storage space. Instead of including an extra piece with the TURBINE Leaf Blower, we built the wall mount into the tool! On the back of the motor housing, under the orange air vent, is a key-hole shaped cutout. This gives you the flexibility to use what you have – hooks, bolts, or nails – to hang up your TURBINE without changing a thing.

  • What is the guarantee/warranty?

If you decide the Worx TURBINE Leaf Blower isn’t the right tool for you, we offer a 30-day Money Back Guarantee from date of receipt (less shipping and handling). Please call our customer service center at 1-866-354-9679 (WORX) and we’ll be happy to assist. View more information here.

We know your tools are indispensable, so we cover each tool with a 2 Year Limited Consumer Warranty. You can extend your warranty to 3 years by registering online within 30 days of purchase. Already have your TURBINE Leaf Blower? Register now!

Worx batteries are covered by a 1 Year Limited Consumer Warranty and are not eligible for warranty extension.

Parts subject to normal wear and tear are not covered by the tool’s warranty. View more information on our warranty here.

  • Where can I get replacement parts?

Lose your charger? Need an extra battery? Many replacement parts are available online under Accessories.

  • Is the mulching impeller in the blower replaceable?

Because of the positioning of the impeller in the tool, it is not a part we offer as a replaceable item. Our friendly customer service team will be glad to help you find the best solution to get you back up and running. Please contact us at 1-866-354-9679 (Worx).

TURBINE40V Cordless Leaf Blower is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasted longer than I did Brought this blower to blow out the garage and around the pool without having to get out the drop cord. I was determined to run it until the battery ran down. I completed both garages, pool, backyard flowerbeds, sidewalks, driveway (long), and flowerbeds in the front yard. I could not wait for it to slow down. Awesome power and long lasting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of uses We bought this in the middle of winter to use in the yard in the spring for clean up. But since it has arrived we have used it to blow off the snow on the porches and front walk. We have learned to work smarter not harder, at 70 years old this is better than using a shovel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! Most of the battery powered leaf blowers are under powered. This one seems to have all the power I need. Terrific!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blower Bought this leaf blower for my husband for Christmas, and we both love it! It has 2 speeds with plenty of power. It is so easy and fun to use, just a push of a button!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price, great product, great value! I have a big bulky backpack blower for my yard, but needed something to help me blow leaves out of my gutters, and trying to use the backpack blower on a ladder made me feel like I was off balance! This blower did the trick! It's lightweight and easy to handle and does the job quickly! I can also blow off my back stoop and patio area without getting out the big bulky backpack blower! It has become my go to tool for easily doing just about everything up close to the house! The two speeds gives me some extra power when I need it, and it's quick recharge means it's always ready to go when I need it and it's so easy for my wife to use too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful leaf blower This is my first cordless leaf blower, and it is so convenient and lightweight, I wish I would have bought one years ago! So nice not to drag around an electrical cord. Battery lasts long enough for me to blow off a large patio, walkway, and driveway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multi use Works great for leaves. Use for light snow and after shoveling heavy snow. I blow snow off my sidewalks and driveway, and do all neighbors because it is so easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from powerfull I reviewed many cordless leaf blowers, compared price-verses power (voltage), read dozens of reviews and thought that I had to pay $150. or more for enough power to replace my hard starting gas blower. I took a chance on this $69 Worx blower and what a surprise. I had all the power I needed in a lightweight package. No cords, no dozen pulls on my stubborn gas blower and the battery charge lasts beyond the stated run time. I'm not easily impressed but, this blower blew me away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful, with extra run time I purchased this blower rather than a gasoline powered one. It's easy to use and gives me independence (I'm a widow, and hate to always be asking for help). It seems as powerful as some gasoline powered blowers, with the added bonus of being light weight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Better than 20V My 20V blower was conking out and I had already purchased a 40V hedge trimmer so I ordered a compatible blower. Much stronger than the 20!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value Excellent value and performance exceeded my expectations (only wish I had a backup battery for those big fall jobs).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use and battery is great if you need a little more time than the 20v battery offers, this tool is great. its like having 2 20v batteries in one. its very lightweight and not too noisy. the turbine fan is very powerful and blows leaves easily. i dont even need to use a rake anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 40volt!!! Does a good job of blowing loose dirt, twigs, flower petals, off the porch and grass off the sidewalk from edging. This blower is a useful and handy battery powered blower for light service duty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blows lake a strong wind I'm so glad I bought it two weeks ago. helps gut down on the raking of leaves

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for smaller jobs I was concerned that the battery on this wouldn’t last long enough to do the area around the pool (big pool) and also concerned that it wouldn’t be powerful enough. It is GREAT! It has enough battery life to do the front porch, walkway, back patio, stairwell & the area around the pool on one charge! It’s not super strong but good enough for acorns and leaves. I like that it has two speeds so I can direct where the debris goes and keep it from flying into the pool. It’s also not too heavy. It has surpassed my expectations and so long as the battery continues to function as well as it is I’ll be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Just what an 82-year-old needs! Lightweight, cordless and high power. I cleaned my rather large patio in about ten minutes. It has the added advantage of low noise in our neighborhood that suffers from the constant high decibel buzz of the commercial gasoline-powered leaf blowers that do not do any better of a job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this thing... but I got this about a month ago. Was tired of pulling the rope all the time, sometimes with success sometimes not. So I thought it was time to go cordless. This is great for about 90% of what I need it for. Not sure if I wished it had a bit more power or maybe a tapered end that would deliver more concentrated blowing. Hence the 4 stars. Like I said it is great for almost all of my needs. I especially like that fact I can use it inside. Great for blowing out the entryway to my house. I am a pro photographer so I also use it to stir up dust in the background or blow smoke through my set. Lot's of great uses- really should have given it 4.5 stars!!! Just needs a little more power.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cordless Leaf Blower I thought the Worx batteries were interchangeable. The battery for the blower didn't last long. I thought I could use my Worx battery from my pressure washer but it didn't fit. If it had fit I would have had more time using the blower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works very well and light weight I have had this for a week used it almost every day. I have a lot of Oak trees it works very well but battery doesn't last but about 40 min. and takes 8 hr to charge. I was in hopes it would charge as fast as my 40V string trimmer which last 90 min. and charges in 1 hr. I do like that it is light weight

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine The machine is great. East to use for me , wife, and kids so now everyone can clean the yard, shop or what ever needs a blow down. Battery last quite awhile on a single charge. Only complaint , it takes a good 4-6 hours to recharge the battery. I may just buy a second battery in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for small jobs. From watching TV it appeared to be very powerful, however was not what I thought. It will be ok for sweeping of the patio.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as I hoped I was hoping to be able to blow snow away as they would do at my condo bldg with a gas blower. I guess it works OK for cordless but not good enough for what I purchased it for. It takes a very long time to charge.
Date published: 2018-01-01
Rated 3 out of 5 by from 15 minute battery, light weight I bought this 2 days ago at walmart. My lawnmower runs on 40v lithium so I went with the same. Unfortunately the batteries are not interchangeable. This is very light weight, which is great for me. Weight is my biggest concern, so i am wIlling to compromise battery life for weight. Does a good job for the 15 minutes the battery lasts, so move fast. And yes, i timed it. Takes a long time to charge, 8hrs. Ordered a second battery, again I'm willing to compromise weight for time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good lite work blower Lite weight decent but not exceptional MPH. Battery staying power disappointing. Needed to buy an additional battery.
Date published: 2017-11-08
Rated 3 out of 5 by from 40 V Cordless Blower I have the 40V blower and the 40V trimmer/edger. It takes both batteries to complete my task. I have to place one charging and then switch to the second battery soon, and I have a very small yard. If they are fully charged then a week later I have to recharge them just before I start or they won't power either device for very long at all. I really thought the batteries would provide more lasting power. I wish they were built with an optional 120V plug in so I could switch to my extension cord when the batteries die.
