WORX Sandeck: A Multi-Purpose Power Sander
Woodworkers and DIYers know the importance of using portable power sanders to smooth wood surfaces. Not only do sanders save a significant amount of time and toil, they also produce smoother, flatter, more flawless surfaces than you could ever achieve with hand sanding.
However, performing various wood-sanding chores typically requires buying different types of sanders, such as a random-orbit sander, orbital finishing sander, and detail sander, to name a few. That is, until now. WORX recently introduced a revolutionary new cordless power sander called, the Sandeck 5-in-1 Multi-Sander.
As its name implies, the Sandeck is a singular power tool that performs the functions of five different sanders. It comes with three interchangeable sanding pads: 5-in.-dia. random-orbit pad, ¼-sheet orbital-finishing pad, and a 3¾-in. x 5½-in. detail sanding pad with pointed tip. Also included are two snap-on detail-sanding accessories: a contour sanding pad and a narrow sanding finger. All five sanding pads accept hook-and-loop abrasive sheets for easy sandpaper changes.
Switching out one sanding pad for another takes just seconds, thanks to Sandeck’s unique Hyperlock quick-change, clamping mechanism. Simply unlock and rotate the clamp’s handle in a counterclockwise direction to release the attached sanding pad. Next, hold the new pad against the tool, rotate handle in a clockwise direction and then lock down the handle.
The Sandeck 5-in-1 Multi-Sander is powered by a 20-volt, 2.0-amp-hour lithium-ion battery. It features a variable-speed motor that operates between 4,000 and 10,000 orbits per minute, and comes complete with one battery, battery charger, three sanding pads, two detail sanding accessories, dust-collection bag, dust wand for attaching to a vacuum, sandpaper punch, an assortment of abrasives, and storage bag.
