What’s the difference between the GT Revolution (WG170) and the previous Worx generations of the GT, like the Worx GT 2.0 (WG160)?
The GT Revolution introduces features not available on previous Worx GT models while still retaining the features you expect on a Worx GT, like easy conversion from trimmer to edger and mini mow mode. Now lighter than ever before, the GT Revolution includes Command Feed which dispenses more line at the touch of a button, on-board spare spool storage, and it’s a full foot longer than previous models to accommodate even our tallest users comfortably.
-
What is CommandFeed and how do I use it?
Worx GT has a history of changing the game when it comes to feeding trimming line, and the Revolution is no exception. Bumping to advance the line became a thing of the past with auto-feeding line on the first GT, and now, CommandFeed puts the control at your fingertips.
Your trimmer is equipped with CommandFeed. To efficiently feed the line, just press the CommandFeed button as needed while the machine is running until you hear the ‘clattering’ noise of the line cutting. The line will automatically feed to the perfect length for trimming. The motor will shut off when pressing the CommandFeed button and will restart when the button is released.
-
I’m really tall/short. Can I adapt the Worx Revolution to my height?
Absolutely! The Worx Revolution is designed to be fully adjustable from the telescoping shaft, 7-position auxiliary handle, and 6-position pivoting trimmer head. When it comes to height, we’ve got you covered. At its shortest, the GT Revolution is 35-3/4” long, but when fully extended, it’s a full 55-1/2” long. That’s a full foot longer than previous Worx GT models to better accommodate even our tallest users comfortably. Don’t contort yourself to fit your trimmer, let the Worx Revolution adapt to you.
-
How heavy is the trimmer?
The trimmer only weighs 5.5 lbs, even with the battery installed. As light as this is, the ergonomic design ensures the weight is evenly distributed between the main and auxiliary handle to make trimming a comfortable, easy-to-manage experience for anyone.
-
How long can you trim on each 20 Volt Max Lithium battery charge?
The two 2.0Ah 20 Volt Max Lithium Batteries included are designed to provide enough working time per charge to trim up to the average 1/4 acre yard on one charge. Actual results may vary depending on the density of the grass or weeds you’re cutting or the age of the battery pack.
-
Is the battery going to be powerful enough?
The lithium battery that powers the Worx GT Revolution is the same battery we use in our professional cordless drills. They’re powerful to drill through concrete and large timber, so they’re definitely powerful enough to trim your grass and weeds and give your lawn the professionally manicured edge you’ve always wanted.
-
Is the battery larger than previous models?
The Worx GT Revolution features our 2.0 Ah 20 Volt Max Lithium Battery. The amp hour rating measures how much energy can be stored in the battery (energy capacity). This 2.0 Ah battery can hold almost twice the amount of energy as our 1.3 Ah model in the same size due to advanced battery chemistry, which means more power and run time when it really counts.
-
What is the horsepower rating of Worx lithium tools?
Battery powered DC motors are not rated for horsepower as output power is only measured with gas or induction AC (corded) motors. Worx lithium powered products were designed with sufficient power to get the job done quickly & easily.
-
How long does it take to charge the 20 Volt Max battery?
It takes about 5 hours to fully charge each of the included batteries with the included charger. With two, you can keep one on the charger while you work, and monitor your battery’s power level with the built-in power gauge.
Faster chargers and higher capacity batteries are available under Accessories.
-
Can I use these batteries on my other Worx tools? Can I use other Worx 20V batteries on this tool?
Absolutely! The 2.0Ah 20V Max Lithium batteries included are compatible with over 30 other 20V Max Worx Power Share tools – and if you already have 20V Max Worx batteries, you can use them on the GT Revolution. Power Share lets you share batteries to save money - add versatility to your toolbox for less by adding tools without unnecessary batteries or chargers. See the whole 20v line here.
-
Are lithium batteries interchangeable with the Ni-Cad?
Our lithium tools and Ni-Cd tools are separate platforms and are not interchangeable. Lithium batteries offer our customers maintenance-free technology without the hassle of managing the memory effect inherent in Ni-Cad batteries.
-
Does it come pre-assembled?
Each trimmer comes with some minor assembly required, which may take up to 5 minutes per tool. A step-by-step instruction manual is included along with easy assembly instructions. Please have a #2 Phillips head screwdriver on hand when assembling your GT Revolution.
-
How do I adjust the Auxiliary Handle?
You can adjust the angle of the auxiliary handle as easily as pushing a button. Where the handle meets the shaft of the GT Revolution, there’s an orange button. Push the button and move the handle to the desired position. Release the button to lock it in place.
-
How do I adjust the angle of the cutting head?
First find the pivot head locking knob, located where the shaft meets the trimmer cutting head and turn it in the “unlock” position. Place the trimmer head on the floor and put your foot on the cutting head. Lift or lower the handle to your preferred angle while stabilizing the head on the ground. The Revolution will click through the positions. Once you’ve found the perfect angle for you, turn the pivot head locking knot back to the “lock” position, and you’re ready to get back at it!
-
How do I convert the GT from Trimmer to Edger? How do I use the Mini-Mower feature?
Converting your trimmer from Trimmer to Edger, or to a Mini-Mower is quick and easy, just like our GT 2.0.
To turn the cutting head for edging mode, hold down the black trimmer line guard with your foot. Pull upward on the telescopic shaft such that the shaft displaces by roughly an inch. Then twist the telescopic shaft clockwise 90 degrees and release. The shaft will automatically lock back into position automatically.
To use your Revolution in mini mower mode, use the same cutting head angle you would for trimming. Install the wheels under the safety guard in the position that works best for the area you’re trimming. Adjust the cutting head angle to give you the best ergonomic position and you’re ready to cut!

-
Can I use the tool without the safety guard? I have experience with other trimmers and will be the only one using it.
The safety guard is an essential part of the tool. Not only does it keep you safe from any debris from the trimming/edging, it also helps regulate the length of the cutting line. Without the safety guard, your Worx GT Revolution will not operate properly and you are at risk for injury.
-
Are there any precautions I should follow when using the Worx GT 2.0?

Follow safety precautions while using any power tools – including wearing safety eyewear, gloves, appropriate shoes & clothing, and keeping hair tied back.
