Step-by-Step Instructions

Tool Tip

Before airbrushing, test and practice on a scrap piece paper or glass and adjust the settings accordingly.

Steps

1. Carefully use the heat gun to remove any labels from the jar by waving the heat gun over the label until it becomes easy to peel off and remove.

2. Clean the outside of the glass with spray and a microfiber cloth or alcohol wipe and let dry.

3. Hot glue a plastic skull or spooky embellishment to the top center of the jar lid.

4. Use a cutting machine to cut out a spooky label around the same measurements as the jar. Peel off the backing of the label then center and lay the stencil around the jar. Press down the edges well so the paint doesn’t bleed. Tip: No cutting machine? No problem! Lightly coat the back of a stencil with adhesive spray before placing it around the jar.

5. Load the paint reservoir of the airbrush approximately ⅓ full with black and green airbrush paint. Begin painting over the stencil in a consistent swirling motion about four to six inches away from the glass until the entire stencil is filled in and then let dry. Next, airbrush the skull and the lid.

6. Empty out the remaining paint and add gold paint into the reservoir. Spray on a piece of scrap paper until the paint fully turns from the black/green to gold. Lightly paint over the stencil in a swirling motion until happy with the results. Don’t forget to add gold to the lid too!

7. Let fully dry for at least an hour before removing the stencil. Carefully remove the stencil from the glass being sure not to touch any of the painted areas. Once done, add a light coat of spray sealant to the glass to help protect the paint. Tip: Use a craft knife or tweezers to help remove the stencil.

8. Glue on decrepit embellishments around the mouth of the jar. Fill the jar with skulls and moss, an LED candle or any other creepy objects!
