FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does this come with a battery?

No, this model does not include a battery. This is an electric tool.

  • How much does the 8 Amp Electric 10” Pole Saw weigh?

The Worx 8 Amp Electric 10” Pole Saw weighs 10 pounds.

  • I’ve seen the 10” Pole/Chain Saw described as battery-operated and electric. Which is correct?

We have two versions of the Pole/Chain Saw, so they are both correct. The WG309 is our electric Pole/Chain Saw. Our battery-operated model, the WG323, uses our 20V MaxLithium technology and Powershare platform that lets you use any 20V Worx battery you may already have.

  • What is the chain speed?

    The chain spins at 28ft/second.

  • Does the Cordless Pole/Chain Saw come pre-assembled?

The Chain Saw does come assembled, but not attached to the pole. Attaching the pole is quick, easy and requires no tools!

  • How hard is it to attach the pole to the chain saw? What kind of tools will I need?

Attaching the pole is easy and does not require any tools! You’ll be able to connect it in less than 3 minutes. First, screw the pole together securely. To save you on shipping, and to make future storage more convenient, the pole unscrews into two tethered pieces. Once the pole is assembled, unscrew the attachment faceplate from the pole and set aside. Set the handle of the chainsaw around the handle bracket on the pole. Re-attach the faceplate and screw in securely. Attach the chainsaw cord to the cord on the handle, and you’re ready to go!

  • I didn’t receive any oil in the package. What kind of oil do I use on the chain saw? How much oil will the chain saw need?

The 8 Amp Electric 10” Pole Saw can take any kind of bar and chain oil, which is available in most hardware stores or stores that sell chainsaws. The oil tank capacity will hold 4.06 ounces.

  • How can I prevent oil leakage?

With a saw designed to self-lubricate during operation, a little oil leakage is normal. To help minimize and prevent leakage, we recommend the following:

-Use only enough oil for the task at hand.

-Remove oil cap and immediately replace it after operation to vent the oil tank. This relieves any accumulated pressure during the oiling process.

-Allow the saw to cool down before storing.

-Wipe down the saw sprocket area.

-Remove oil from saw before storage.

-Store the saw horizontally when not in use.

  • How do I buy a replacement bar or chain? Can I get them locally?

Both the bar and chain are available under Accessories.

Need something faster? Local hardware or home improvement stores may carry accessories that fit your Worx chainsaw. Look for the following items compatible with your WG323 Cordless Pole/Chain Saw.

    Chain:

    ES: 3/8LP.050 40E, QIRUI: A1-40, Oregon: 90PX0034X

    Bar:

    ES: ES100SDEA041, QIRUI: P010-50SR, Oregon: 100SDEA041

  • Can the chain saw be used without the pole?

Yes, the chainsaw can be used with or without the pole, depending on what the job at hand requires.

  • What is the length of the 8 Amp Pole/Chain Saw?

The full length of the Cordless Pole/Chain saw is 97.5”.

  • If the total length of the 8 Amp Electric Pole/Chain Saw when attached to the extension pole is roughly 8’, how can it reach up to 10’?

Working directly overhead is never a safe option when trimming limbs from trees, so the calculation isn’t based on direct reach. Since the safest way to approach tree trimming would be standing away from the branch being cut and reaching up at an angle, the total reach factors in the average height of the person using the tool as at least 4’. When standing at the base of the tree and reaching with the Pole/Chain Saw at an angle, the average user can cut branches at a height of 10 or more feet.

  • Are there any precautions I should follow when using the Worx 8 Amp Electric 10" Pole Saw?

Carefully review the owner’s manual for all safety information and guidelines. Follow safety precautions while using any power tools – including wearing safety eyewear, gloves, appropriate shoes & clothing, and keeping hair tied back. See the owner’s manual for complete safety instructions and details.

  • I misplaced my manual. Is there anywhere I can get more information?

You can download the manual here, or our friendly customer service team will be glad to answer any questions you may have at 1-866-354-9679 (WORX).

  • What is the guarantee/warranty?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good Chain Saw I got this a couple of weeks ago to cut down some limbs over my roof . It's a little heavy for an old f--t like me , but it did a great job . I have a very good gas chain saw , but I went ahead and used this to trim up some other limbs and cut down a few small trees . It worked very well on those as well .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait so long... Bought this today and put it to use trimming out the bottom of a "weeping" slippery elm tree that had gotten way out of hand in the front yard. Beautiful tree, but a lot of maintenance that I had been putting off. I think my job was about the maximum you would want to do using this saw, lots of 3 inch limbs about 6-12 feet off the ground. For some of the limbs the extension was actually too long. The only things you need to be careful about are checking the chain tension about every 10 minutes, I dropped the chain once, and keeping it full of oil. The directions said to use the bulb to oil the chain, but mine has no bulb. It must be self-oiling because after you've had it running for an hour or so, its an oily little beast. You may also need a small funnel, as the oil opening isn't that big and the oil comes by the quart. Overall, I used it pretty hard for about 3 hours and it used about half a quart of oil. Once all the limbs were down, the real the work began. We've had a lot of rain lately and the tree was pretty wet. This saw worked better than the guys at the store said it would and it has a 3-yr warranty. Perfect saw for home-owner use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The option of on and off the pole is a great This a well thought out and well made product. I looked at all options and this was the best for me. Already had plenty of extension cords and didn’t wish to pay for batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Easy to operate. Works incredibly well. Incredibly happy with my 10 foot pole saw. cuts aggressively and smoothly. Other saws I have used would have problems with the chain coming off very easily. The Worx chain saw chain stays on and cuts extremely well. Beautiful piece of equipment. I recommend the Worx 10" pole saw over all others. It is a very smooth operator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best electric chain saw. Very happy about my purchase. This pole chain saw is great. Ten inch bar is just the right size for what I need. Not to heavy for reaching branches ten feet up in tree. Easy cut, and once branch is down you can convert pole saw into hand held chain saw super easy to finish up the job. Couldn't ask for more. Can't go wrong if you purchase this chainsaw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Versatile Equipment I bought this about 2 weeks ago. Very happy with the results. Very light and versatile

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful! I bought this about a month ago and is the best purchase I've made in a long time. I'm a home owner with numerous trees in my front and back yards. It has come in so handy to cut many sizes of branches and with a reach of up to 10 feet, it's even better. Well made for occasional home use, I wouldn't think twice about buying another Worx product. By the way, when I returned to the store to buy some chainsaw oil, I noticed that all of these pole saws were sold out. Somebody else likes them too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! My biggest worry was having the chain fall off and not being able to put it back on. So of course, I got it caught in some hidden chicken wire and had to take it off to untangle it. It went back on just fine! For the record, this is the first time I have ever used a chain saw! I am a 68 year old woman and found this easy to use. I haven't used it as a pole saw yet but so far, just great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The every-man/woman chainsaw Let me start off by saying this is my first chainsaw. I needed something to help me clear my backyard for a new fence and at a $100 price point I could not pass this product up. It came with a complete safety and chainsaw use guide which was easy to understanding and learn from. The fact that the saw is removable from the pole is the best part. It came fully assembled, only needing bar/chain oil. Within minutes I was cutting tree limbs and bushes with so much ease. This saw far exceeded my expectations and the manufacturer I presume as well. I was able to take and entire limbs of the big tree in my backyard off! Clean up is very easy. One screw handle and you can simply disassemble the chain guide to clean out sawdust. It also keeps its self lubricated from the oil well, which holds a generous amount. If gas powered tools are an issue for you or beyond you price range, this is the perfect saw for the average homeowner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simplicity at its finest I bought this chainsaw on a stick with some amount of trepidation but when I put it together plugged it in and started cutting branches of at least 6 inches in diameter and many at that I must have cut about 1/2 a cord of branches first on the pole then alone on the ground cut and stacked just to verify the amount cut in just a few hours,If this saw sees longevity then I have certainly made the purchase of a lifetime in this saw

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Pole Saw I purchased this 10 inch electric pole saw from Worx and it has been the best purchase this year. Once it arrived, it was easy to setup and use. I had branches that were high that this pole saw reached. It cuts very easy and quickly. The electric saw starts with the press of a button, unlike gas powered that takes time to start and makes you tired trying to start it. Also, I love that fact that the saw can be detached from the pole and used as a handheld chainsaw. I am happy with this product. Worx makes great products. I also have their 24 volt cordless lawn mower. Another perfect product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of use! I have only used it one time, but when I did I knocked down more than 20 branches in less than 2 hours. Product did all it was supposed to and more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is an absolutely awesome little chainsaw This chainsaw will not leave you stranded. Although its only a 10" chain, this thing cuts through far more than just a 2 or 3 inch branch. Ive cut through more than i ever should have and its always treated me so well. The key to this little guy, is to never force the chainsaw; let it cut on its own pace. This will add years to this product's lifecycle. In addition, the extension pole is such a clever idea for those hard to reach branches. I cut down 5, 40ft ficus hedges that had turned into trees! This little guy got them all down with no issues! Working above your head is the only DANGER....so be extra careful with this thing. Its heavy enough for you to need some muscles if working overhead for more than 2 or 3 minutes. That and the issue of the high branches coming down on you. But that's all user issues and not this little chainsaw's fault. I would HIGHLY recommend this product for all your backyard trimming needs, and then some. It does use quite a bit of bar/chain oil, so always buy an extra bottle to have with you, if you're doing lots of trimming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and simple to use. We live in a farm and this is my first non-professional tool. I had doubt at first but bought it anyway. It turns out to be a good investment. It's light enough for a continual 3 hours work with the 10' extension. The auto tension is a good feature for occasional user. Good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent saw! This powerful little saw has already paid for itself many times over! It make quick work of even large limbs. Overall much better than expected.
Date published: 2017-10-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy! Tried the pole saw for the first time a few days ago. It cuts through the limbs like they were butter. Just have to lay the blade on the limb and press the trigger. It is a little too heavy for me when fully extended, but no problem for my husband. He loves it. We trimmed a lot of dead limbs and other things which would have required a ladder if using a regular saw. I can use it when not fully extended and still reach limbs that would otherwise be out of reach. Can't wait do trimming! BTW - I am 73.
