What is a narrow crown stapler?

The narrow crown stapler fires a narrower staple (approx 1/4" wide) and is used for more of a finish application (i.e. stapling backs onto cabinets). Also, the wire gauge is thinner (18 gauge) to prevent splitting the wood in the finish applications.

What type of staples do I use?

18GA narrow crown staples. Compatible lengths 3/4 in – 1-1/2 in.

Will I need gas cartridges?

No, the wx844L contains a sealed compressed air cylinder powered by our 20V max lithium-ion battery which drives staples into material with power and precision.

What are common applications?

Narrow crown staplers are generally used for finish and trim applications, such as molding, trim, cabinets, drawers, fascias and other fine-grained applications. The smaller crown allows the stapler to penetrate a surface without being overly noticeable.

How do I clear a jam?

Your narrow crown stapler features a tool free jam release mechanism. Simply raise and unhook the release lever to get access to the jam and clear. Like any nail gun, there is a chance that you will experience a jam or two. To help prevent the issue, only use fasteners that meet the specification of your tool. You should also verify the tool is loaded properly. Refer to your owner's manual for trouble shooting if needed.

What is a non-marring pad?

A non marring pad is attached to the tip of your stapler to help prevent marring or dents on your work piece. An extra pad is located at the back side of the magazine.
