FAQ

What type of oil do I use with the chainsaw?

Oil is not included with this chainsaw, but it can take any kind of bar & chain oil, which you can find in most hardware stores.

How can I prevent oil leakage?

A little oil leakage is normal for a self-lubricating chainsaw. To minimize leakage, briefly unscrew the oil cap after use to relieve accumulated oil tank pressure. It also helps to wait for the saw to cool before storage and to store it with the oil cap facing up.

How does the chain brake work?

The chain brake is a safety mechanism activated through the front hand guard: When kickback occurs, the chain will stop immediately. The saw will not start until the chain brake is disengaged. To disengage, pull the front hand guard toward the user until it *clicks* into position.

NOTE: THE CHAIN BRAKE WILL BE IN ENGAGED POSITION OUT-OF-THE-BOX. BE SURE TO DISENGAGE BEFORE USE.

How does tool-free chain tensioning work?

No tools are needed to tighten the chain. Simply turn the large dial on the side of the saw and the chain will be set to the proper tension without overtightening. See owner's manual for more details.

What is the warranty?

There is 5-year warranty on the tool, as well as the battery.

What are the advantages of the PowerShare PRO Plus battery?

The new PowerShare Pro Plus cells minimize internal resistance, allowing electrons to flow more easily with less heat buildup providing up to 40% higher power and 2x longer lifespan.

Can I use other PowerShare batteries?

Yes, but it is recommended to use the Pro Plus batteries that were included for the best performance.
