The 40V Power Share™ tools are designed to work with a pair of batteries and will not operate with just one battery installed. For optimum performance, when pairing up your batteries, we recommend that both batteries are the same Amp hour rating and are fully charged.

NOTE: We recommend using the same two batteries to run your Grass Trimmer / Edger and charging both batteries at the same time on the dual charger for peak performance. More details can be found in the charger’s manual.

Using batteries with two different capacities, or even different charge levels, won’t improve the performance of your 40V Power Share™ 13” Cordless String Trimmer / Edger. The tool’s performance will only meet the lowest common denominator, so if one battery is only half charged, it will only work until that one battery is exhausted. No one needs to be short-changed like that! Using the same two batteries and charging them together will ensure the high performance you’ve come to expect from your WORX tools.

Before starting the trimmer, or after use, press the button beside the power indicator light on the machine to check the battery capacity. During operation, the battery indicator will constantly sense and automatically display on the battery power indicator and with two battery packs, the power indicator light will display the condition of the battery with the lowest power level.

Five green lights illuminated – The two batteries are highly charged

Two, three, or four green lights illuminated – The two batteries have a remaining charge. The more lights illuminated, the more battery capacity is available

Only one green light illuminated – The charge level of at least one battery is very low. Please check and charge the battery.

No lights illuminated – At least one battery is not fully installed or battery may be defective.

One light is flashing twice per cycle – At least one battery is over-discharged. Please recharge to two batteries at once before use or storage.

The WORX 40V Power Share™ 13” Cordless String Trimmer / Edger has a static length but is equipped with an adjustable auxiliary handle so you can customize the fit of the trimmer to a grip for your height and comfort.

If you’re looking for a fully adjustable trimmer, the WORX 20V GT Revolution with a 4.0 Ah battery will adapt to fit you with more power than our typical 20V batteries.

The trimmer weighs 8.6 lbs., even with both batteries installed. The ergonomic design ensures the weight is evenly distributed between the main and auxiliary handle to make trimming a comfortable, easy-to-manage experience for anyone.

The included 20V Max Lithium batteries are designed to provide enough working time per charge to trim up to the average 1/2 acre homesite on one charge. Actual results may vary on a variety of factors, including the density of the grass or weeds you’re cutting, the age and charge levels of each battery pack.

NOTE: The batteries are shipped uncharged. Each battery must be fully charged before the first use. We recommend always fully charging both batteries at the same time to ensure the best performance. More details can be found in the charger’s manual.

Yes! The 40V Power Share™ Cordless String Trimmer / Edger is equipped with a variable speed throttle control which means you can go from low to GO by controlling how much pressure you put on the trigger. Instead of a switch with high and low settings, you grip controls how much power your trimmer uses.

Battery powered DC motors are not rated for horsepower as output power is only measured with gas or induction AC (corded) motors. WORX lithium powered products were designed with sufficient power to get the job done quickly & easily.

It takes about 60 minutes to fully charge both included batteries with the included dual-port charger.

While the WORX 40V Power Share™ platform allows you to share batteries between tools within the same voltage family, batteries should only be used with tools of a corresponding voltage. Use your 20V Max Lithium battery with any 20V WORX tool – even the power tools.

WORX GT has a history of changing the game when it comes to feeding trimming line, and the WORX 40V Power Share™ Cordless String Trimmer / Edger is no exception. Bumping to advance the line became a thing of the past with auto-feeding line on the first GT, and now, Command Feed puts the control at your fingertips. If at any time, you need more line for your trimmer, just press the Command Feed button to release more line. You’ll get the perfect amount of line without stopping your work or getting your hands dirty. It’s that easy.

Our lithium tools and Ni-Cd tools are separate platforms and are not interchangeable. Lithium batteries offer our customers maintenance-free technology without the hassle of managing the memory effect inherent in Ni-Cad batteries.

Each trimmer comes with some minor assembly required, which may take up to 5 minutes per tool. A step-by-step instruction manual is included along with easy assembly instructions. Please have a #2 Phillips head screwdriver on hand when assembling your trimmer.

To adjust the auxiliary handle, loosen the handle adjustment knob that secures the handle to the shaft. Once loosened, you can slide the auxiliary handle up or down the trimmer shaft, twist it to get the perfect angle for either trimming or edging, or adjust it to the perfect angle to match your grip.

Place the trimmer head on the floor and put your foot on the cutting head. Lift or lower the handle to your preferred angle while stabilizing the head on the ground. The WORX 40V Power Share™ Cordless String Trimmer / Edger will click through the positions. Once you’ve found the right angle, you’re ready to get back at it!

Converting your trimmer from Trimmer to Edger is quick and easy.

To turn the cutting head, look for the orange button on the shaft right in front of the red CommandFeed button. Press the button and twist the trimmer. Adjust the auxiliary handle and the cutting head position for the task at hand. When edging, don’t forget to install the guide wheels to make getting that precise straight line a breeze.

This model does not have a mini-mower mode.

Our Double Helix line is specially designed to work with CommandFeed technology for a quicker, more efficient cut and to help maintain a healthy, professionally groomed lawn. Pre-wound spools with 20’ of our patented DoubleHelix line are available here.

If you decide to use traditional line, the WORX String Trimmer / Edger can accept standard 0.08” cutting line found at any garden or home center and can be wound around our empty spool cartridges. Refer to your owner’s manual for important details about how to wind the line on the spools and keep in mind that with conventional cutting line, CommandFeed may not work as expected.

The safety guard is an essential part of the tool. Not only does it keep you safe from any debris from the trimming/edging, it also helps regulate the length of the cutting line. Without the safety guard, your WORX String Trimmer / Edger will not operate properly and you are at risk for injury.

Safety is one of our primary concerns which is why each of our tools has a 2-stage start. The lock off button is this safety feature on the 40V Power Share™ Cordless String Trimmer / Edger. By default, it prevents the trimmer from starting unless the lock off button is pressed before the trigger is pulled so the trimmer only starts when you want to start it.

NOTE: Even with the inherent safety features, be sure to always remove the batteries before working with the cutting head of the trimmer (installing/replacing spools of line, cleaning the safety guard). For more information on safety precautions, please refer to the owner’s manual.
